Where To Eat If You Have 24 Hours In Bangalore

26 Jun , 2016

Flying into Bangalore for a quick meeting? Don’t waste your time and money eating at the run-of-the-mill airport kiosks. This hub of startups is a great place for food lovers and many tend to miss out on the must-haves amid the rush of a short trip.

You don’t want to make the same mistake if you have only 24 hours in the Silicon City of India. Here is a list of MUST TRY places in Bangalore for every time of the day that your stomach craves a snack.

Breakfast at MTR
If you are hungry early in the morning, head straight to MTR, the oldest idly and dosa joint in Bangalore. The Masala Dosa dripping with ghee, and the sweet Kersari bhat made using rice, sugar and saffron will leave you licking your fingers long after the meal is done. Combine this delectable meal with a cup of authentic filter coffee and you won’t forget the taste of Bangalore for a long time.

Brunch at Café Max
For something a little more Continental, head to Café Max located on the terrace of Max Mueller Bhavan. It is a great place for European (and mostly German) food preparations like the Butter Fish Frankfurt Style, Chicken Stroganoff or the Aragula and Pear Salad. If a boozy brunch is what you want, their menu boasts of some delicious sangrias and wines that are the perfect midday drink.

Lunch at Toit
Lazy afternoons in Bangalore are best spent at Toit. Beer lovers will enjoy the many freshly brewed flavours here (the Toit Weiss requires special mention), and when those hunger pangs kick in, appetizers like the Baked Nachos With Bacon, or the Grilled Cottage Cheese make for ideal accompaniments. The food menu is quite diverse and the signature Toit Steak and the Toit Cream Cheese Pizza are definite crowd-pleasers.Fine Dine Love

Tea and Snacks at Yogisthaan Café
After the indulgence, Yogisthaan Café is the ideal place for a detox. The interiors are done up with plants and white wooden benches, where you can lounge for hours, sipping on chai served with jaggery instead of sugar. The entire menu follows the organic route and is prepared in the most natural way. The Signature Smoothie made with figs, poppy seeds, and puffed rice and the I Am Alkalizing sandwich made with almond pesto are great snacking options.

Happy Hour at Om Made Café
Om Made Café conducts Happy Hours from 4 to 8pm when patrons can enjoy unlimited sangria for a fixed price of Rs. 999. What better way to make merry? The Raw Mango Salad with Prawns and the Quiche are some of the delicacies at the top of the list for many diners who eat here.

Dinner at Olive Beach (reserve now)
The elegant ambience at Olive Beach will make you feel like you’re at a quaint Greek bistro. While seated under the trees, you can enjoy some scrumptious appetizers like the Mushroom Bisteeya or the hearty Beef Carpaccio. Dig into delicious mains like the Meatless Moussaka, or the Spice Dusted Halibut and round off the meal with desserts like Tiramisu, Candy Bar or the divine Salted Caramel.
