When you think of Bangalore, sandwiches are not the first thing that come to mind, but as we made our way through café, delis and restaurant menus we found a few picks with fillings, bread, meats and cheese worthy of sinking teeth into.


The Ambulance, The Moo Point
Once a stall at numerous festivals, the Moo Point now operates as a fully functional sandwich shop, on Residency Road. Chef and Owner Nikhil Malhotra also runs a farm that supplies quality meat cuts and cheeses used at the shop and supplied to other reputed kitchens around the city.
Created on special request, The Ambulance, is a sandwich designed to command the full attention of the young college going crowd that frequents the restaurant.
With layers, of their signature juicy beef tenderloin, cooked to medium rare, crunchy triple cooked fries seasoned with cheddar, sliced smoked chicken, strips of bacon topped with stringy mozzarella, between slices of fragrant garlicky bread. A favourite with meat lovers who want more or anyone with the Midnight Munchies, order now!

Cubano, Red Fork
What happens when chefs get hungry? They feed us! Created in the kitchen of Red Fork, the hungry chefs, waited for inspiration to strike as they put together leftovers between slices of homemade bread, sealed on a hot grill. A week after, they put the Cubano on the menu, a combination of double cooked pork shoulder and pork belly with a heap of caramelised onions, fresh herbs, layers of honey glazed ham, pickled cucumbers, smoked Scamorza cheese between slices of homemade sour dough bread. Loaded with goodness, this one’s definitely worth sinking your teeth into.

Smoked Beef Sandwich with Onion Jam, Rocket, Tomato and Mozzarella, Cafe Thulp
